Identify your Omega calibre
Omega’s manual for Moonwatch reference 310.32.42.50.04.001 identifies manually wound calibre 3861: rotating it in a winder will not wind that movement. By contrast, the manual for Aqua Terra 220.10.38.20.03.005 identifies calibre 8800 as automatic. These examples show why the reference matters, instead of assigning a setting to a whole family.

How do you confirm TPD and rotation direction?
TPD means the watch winder’s turns per day, not the crown turns used for manual winding. The cited documents identify movements; they do not validate a universal TPD programme for our devices.
- Find the full reference and calibre in your watch’s documentation.
- Consult its specific manual. If no winder programme is given, request confirmation from the manufacturer or its authorised network for that reference.
- Check that your device supports the required programme and that its direction labels match the instructions.
- For a stopped watch, follow its restarting procedure before placing it on the cushion. If it stops again, check the settings and seek advice instead of automatically increasing TPD.

Can a Speedmaster use a watch winder?
Not the calibre 3861 Moonwatch cited here: it is wound using the crown. For another Speedmaster, identify the exact movement in its manual. Do not infer how it winds from the dial’s appearance alone.
What TPD does a Seamaster or calibre 9900 need?
The collection name alone does not establish a programme. Confirm the programme for the exact reference with Omega or its authorised network before configuring a winder.
Does a winder remove the need for precautions?
No. Check the programme, the watch’s fit on the cushion and clearance around the case. A winder replaces neither the manual nor servicing. For a vintage watch or a complication, consult the service department before prolonged use.
