How do you confirm TPD and rotation direction?
TPD means the watch winder’s turns per day, not the crown turns used for manual winding. The cited documents identify movements; they do not validate a universal TPD programme for our devices.

- Consult its specific manual. If no winder programme is given, request confirmation from the manufacturer or its authorised network for that reference.
- Check that your device supports the required programme and that its direction labels match the instructions.

Identify the full reference: the Nautilus name is not enough. The official 5811/1G-001 specification confirms its calibre, but does not give a TPD programme for our devices. Request confirmation for the particular watch and winder.
Is a winder useful for a Patek with a calendar?
Keeping the watch wound can avoid having to reset its calendar. Patek provides winding-case instructions for calibre 240 Q, for example. Those instructions concern the models covered by that manual; they do not validate an identical programme for all Patek Philippe watches.
Does a winder remove the need for precautions?
No. Check the programme, the watch’s fit on the cushion and clearance around the case. A winder replaces neither the manual nor servicing. For a vintage watch or a complication, consult the service department before prolonged use.
